Dear Fellow NY Hoya,
Allow
us to introduce ourselves – we are this year’s Co-Presidents of the
Georgetown Club of Metropolitan New York. We have a history of being
quite active in the Georgetown community, as undergrads and since
graduation. We are definitely looking forward to the year ahead.
It
seems like time passes faster each year, making it hard to believe that
this year’s freshmen are the Class of 2015. Although many of us spent
time on the Hilltop some years ago, Georgetown is often on our minds and
always in our hearts. Good news - the Hoya community is more active
than ever before, right here in New York City!
As
a Club, we’ve been quite busy this past year, adding more programs and
events than ever before. Thank you for helping to make that possible. Our website, www.nyhoyas.com,
continues to be our most important resource. It’s the best way for you
to learn about upcoming events and it’s a great tool for us to keep
track of NYC-area Hoyas and keep in touch with each of you. Since the
launch of the new website three years ago, we have seen a significant
increase in membership – we hope that will continue this year. And of
course, don’t forget to pay your annual dues!
Although
we are pursuing many new endeavors, we are staying true to our NY Hoya
traditions: hosting food and drink tastings, museum tours, academic
lectures, theater nights, Hoya basketball game-watches and more. We are
always open to new event ideas! Feel free to reach out to us anytime
at info@nyhoyasclub.org or join us at our month board meetings, usually held the first Tuesday of each month at the Cornell Club in Midtown.
We hope you are as excited about this year as we are - we encourage you
to join the Club and enjoy all it has to offer! Club members receive
discounted prices on Club events, invitations to members-only events,
and advanced email notification of events with limited registration.
Please stop back often at www.nyhoyas.com to stay on top of the Club’s upcoming events. If you haven’t already, please consider becoming a member.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you over the coming year!
